Nicholas L. Oswald

The next generation has returned to serve the legal needs of our community. Nick Oswald is the second son of Andy Oswald, and was born and raised here in Hutchinson. After completing his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, Nick received his law degree from the University of Kansas Law School. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for Chief Judge Robert Fairchild in the Douglas County District Court. Nick also served as an Associate Editor for The University of Kansas Law Review, which is a student-edited journal of legal scholarship. He is licensed to practice in the State and Federal Courts of Kansas and Missouri.

Nick is a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He shares his home with his wife, Emily, their newborn son and their feline companion, Henry. Nick and Emily also volunteer at the Hutchinson Animal Shelter as a foster home for abandoned kittens.

Andrew L. Oswald

Andrew L. Oswald is an independent legal practitioner who has a general practice that is litigation-oriented. Andrew handles personal injury, workers’ compensation, Social Security, domestic matters including divorce, paternity, juvenile court matters, criminal defense, and real estate. Andrew focuses his practice on representing individuals rather than corporate interests. Andrew grew up in Hutchinson, Kans. He graduated from Kansas State University, cum laude, in 1977, with degrees in political science and animal science. He received his JD from Washburn Law School, Topeka, Kans., in 1980.

Andrew is a member of the Kansas Association for Justice, formerly the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, of which he is a member of the Board of Governors and has been a speaker for purposes of legal education. Andrew is licensed to practice in the state internal courts of Kansas. He is a member of the Reno County Bar Association and Wichita Bar Association and is a past president of the Reno County Bar Association.

Andrew has been active in the community, having previously served on the Hutchinson Planning Board; served as a member and chairman of the Reno County Cattleman’s Association; served as a member and chairman of the Reno County Planning Board; served as a member and past president of the Reno County Historical Society; and past member and past president of the Hutchinson Chapter of AMBUCS. Andrew has been involved in local area scouting serving as Troop #301 Committee Chairman, Chairman of the Mohawk District, and is a former member of the Executive Board of the Quivira Council. Andrew is a proud third-generation Eagle Scout. His sons, Zach and Nick, are fourth-generation Eagle Scouts. Andrew has also been a youth sports coach in soccer and basketball.

Andrew and his wife, Jennifer, have two children, sons Zach and Nick. Andrew enjoys working on his family cattle farm and maintaining a hobby farm that includes donkeys, ducks, chickens and goats.
